Devon is situated in the South West of England and offers both beautiful countryside as well as some of the UK’s prettiest seaside resorts making Devon an excellent choice for a weekend break or family holiday.

A visit to Devon and you will be spoilt for choice by the amount of bed and breakfasts, farmhouses, country pubs and boutique hotels to choose from. Devon is also home to The English Riviera covering three seaside towns Brixham, Paignton and Torquay.

Brixham is situated in the South of the English Riviera amongst the rugged cliffs. It has a lively harbour and is one of the UK’s busiest fishing ports.

Paignton in The English Riviera boasts long sandy beaches, a harbour and busy town centre. Paignton makes a great choice for families especially those with young children.

Torquay is a classy resort in The English Riviera with a stylish marina, tree-line promenade, cafes and bars which gives Torquay a Mediterranean atmosphere.

If staying inland you will not be far from both the Exmoor and Dartmoor National Parks a popular base for walkers, nature lovers, cyclists, horse riders all those that enjoy all types of country pursuits especially those that love the great outdoors.

Sidmouth situated in East Devon is a quaint town home to the Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary and close to the traditional seaside village of Beer. In this neck of the woods you will also be within reach of Axminster and Honiton both situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty admist pretty villages, rivers and Devon farmland.

If travelling to the South of Devon you will be on the Devon south coast between Plymouth and Torbay. Many Devon towns and villages include Hope Cove, Totnes, Kingsbridge, Modbury, Thurlestone, Torcross, Salcombe, Dartmouth and the South Hams all of which make a great base for a Devon holiday. Devon is certainly an ideal place to relax and enjoy either a traditional seaside holiday or a countryside break. As well as tasting some Devon fudge, don’t forget to sample one of the Devonshire cream teas.
