Whilst you are here in Blackpool why not take in a show at the Opera House in the Winter Gardens complex or visit the newly re-furbished Grand Theatre and enjoy a pre show drink in the fantastic Matcham's bar.

The North and Central Piers theatres also have live shows. There is also the internationally famous Blackpool Tower Circus with stars from the four corners of the world, alongside the sensational Mookie the Clown.

It's better with the lights on for an autumn break at Britain’s favourite resort, so take a trip to the fabulous Blackpool Illuminations. They are switched on at the beginning of September and shine every evening until the beginning of November. The display stretches from Starr Gate to Bispham along 5 miles of the famous seafront, transforming it into a huge colourful show of moving glowing tableaux, laser lights, fibre optics and giant models providing a wonderland of colour for the young and not so young.

You can ride the length of the Promenade on one of the famous Blackpool trams some of which are illuminated. The trams run from Starr Gate at the South, right through Blackpool, to Bispham, Cleveleys and terminate at Fleetwood on the northern side.
