Northumberland
Explore grand castles there are more here than anywhere else in England. Some are still lived in such as Alnwick, familiar as
Harry Potters Hogwarts School. Enjoy the wide open country side and long beaches. Much of the 1900 year old Hadrian’s wall
still stands and its route is now a World Heritage Site and National Trail.
County Durham
Durham Cathedral is a World Heritage Site together with the nearby Durham Castle. Durham City has many unusual shops and a
range of restaurants.High House Chapel is the oldest in the world and still holds its weekly services. Walking through
Teesdale you will spot sculptures and wild flowers on the Durham Heritage Coastline.
Tyne and Wear
This is the place with it all, a fun coast and a vibrant city life. Tyne and Wear holds award-winning beaches and
peaceful countryside. There are great family attractions including the Blue Reef Aquarium where you can walk
under the Sharks. Or visit the ruins of Tynemouth Priory and Castle
Tees Valley
The highest on Englands Coast are the Boulby Cliffs which rise almost 700 feet. Take a ride on Saltburns cliff lift
the only water balanced one in England. Or picnic on the golden sands at Redcar or Saltburn-by-the-Sea. Tees Valley
has it all Coast, Countryside or Shopping the choice is yours.
