Separated by the garden from the main house, this beautifully appointed self-contained studio is situated at the end of the drive, across a gravel courtyard, where you can sit out for breakfast enjoying the morning sunshine and lovely views.
This large spacious open plan room is beautifully decorated, featuring a king size double bed, comfortable chairs and round table.
The contemporary marble bathroom has a bath, shower and heated towel rail. Toweling bathrobes and slippers are provided, along with a hairdryer, and a selection of soaps and toiletries. It also has an "emergencies" drawer in case you forget your razor, toothbrush etc.
Wi-fi internet is available including TV with Freeview and i-player. There is also a dedicated USB socket for charging laptops, phones, cameras etc.
A cooked breakfast will be brought to your room. Ingredients are locally sourced and seasonal where possible and include eggs from the resident hens.
On the sideboard there is a kettle and toaster and a selection foods including muesli, cereals, yoghurt, dried fruit, fresh seasonal fruit, fresh bread and butter and a selection of preserves. There is also a range of teas, Nespresso coffee, decaffeinated tea and coffee, instant coffee, milk, fresh fruit juice and mineral water.
From the room step out through the patio doors onto the terrace, which gets the evening sunshine. Guests are welcome to walk in the wild flower garden and out into the fields.

The area is criss-crossed with footpaths, and there are lovely walks across the fields and through the woods to Rushlake Green, Cowbeech and Bodle Street. In the streams you will see the rust from the ironstone, which was used for making canons back in the 17th and 18th centuries .
Locally you can visit Herstmonceux Castle, and Mickleham Priory. There is the annual Air show at Eastbourne ( 14 miles away), also the pier and beaches. Only 25 minutes away an ideal bed and breakfast venue for the Glyndebourne Festival , for which your hosts can arrange hampers and taxis.
Also within in easy reach are Sissinghurst Castle and garden, Bodiam Castle, Battle Abbey, Great Dixter and Batemans at Burwash . Further afield are Lewes, Brighton, Rye and Tenterden.
Unfortunately there is no public transport, and Rushlake Green, the nearest village with a shop and pub, is 35 minutes walk away. So transport is essential.
Gatwick Airport is an hour way by car, or there are regular trains to and from Polegate (15 minutes away), where there is a taxi rank. Your hosts can arrange transport.
