The South Downs Bunkhouse is located in the middle of the South Downs Way – Perfectly suited to walkers, cyclists, horse riders, school parties and visitors to the area who want warm, comfortable accommodation at a very reasonable price.

The accommodation consists of bunk beds in four rooms. There is also a communal room with a TV, free WiFi, oven and hob, plus large american fridge freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle and a basic barbecue in the courtyard outside with fuel available on request at a small charge.

Every bed has a power socket and USB charging port available for your devices. Secure bike storage is available along with bike washing facilities as is a paddock or stables for horses.

There are 20 bed spaces in total, three of the rooms have two bunks and one has four. The mattresses are memory foam for your comfort. Bed spaces are sold on the basis of mixed gender and mixed party occupancy. Should you require single gender or single party occupancy then empty bed spaces in the room are charged at the basic rate.

Based on customers bringing their own sleeping bag and towel. A pillow is provided. A duvet, sheet and towel can be provided at a cost of £4 per night.

Tea and coffee are provided and we can also supply a continental breakfast pack with bread, butter, jam, cereal/porridge and fruit juice for £5.

The South Downs Bunkhouse is situated at Houghton Farm very close to the point at which The Southdowns Way crosses the River Arun. The Monarch’s Way also passes through the village.

The hamlet of Houghton is within easy walking distance of Amberley Railway Station has two excellent pubs for lunch or dinner and a riverside cafe that caters for breakfast as well as evening meals. In addition, there is a cafe at Whiteways which is a short cycle away. The nearby, pretty village of Amberley has a tea rooms and village stores.

Ideally situated for Goodwood Racecourse, which holds many meetings including “Glorious Goodwood” and Goodwood Racetrack, famous for the Festival of Speed and the Goodwood Revival. Fontwell Racecourse is also only a short distance away.
